When making cakes, it is a good idea to make a few little extra cakes for later enjoyment. This particular cake is amazing with fresh strawberries on top of it during the strawberry season. So, Mom always makes a few little extra mini-cakes to put in the freezer until time for the sweet succulent goodness of farm-fresh strawberries! Wow, my mouth is watering just thinking about the juice from a fresh strawberry dripping off of my lips! *drool*
Along with the sheet cake, she made two 6” round cakes, and these pretty mini-cakes.

Eva, I downloaded a trial version of Photoshop Elements and used it for these. I can’t afford to buy the full version yet, or another one that is recommended, but hopefully I will be up and watermarking again soon. :)

Your blogs on caking reminded me of the Japanese comic called Yumeiro Patissierre, which is about a young girl who aspires to be a pastry chef. It’s so cute, and thanks to your blogs, I’ve returned to reading it!
Baking takes a kind of talent that I unfortunately don’t have. Gigi and I both have bad genes for patience. Endurance is one thing; outright patience is another. Apparently, both you and your mom have an abundance of patience!!

I would say Mom has A LOT more patience than I do! Now, I must check out this comic…hopefully I will be able to understand it. Is it in English?
