You’ve Got to Believe

I wonder sometimes if we really think about what we put on hold in life because we aren’t prepared to take the risk it requires. Maybe it’s not even the risk, but it’s the belief in ourselves that we don’t quite know how to harness these days. I can’t even begin to count how many people I run across in my life that don’t even know what it means to believe in themselves. They continually live life as they have been told to, never truly embracing what they are capable of doing. In doing what one is always told to do, we never learn to grow and move forward in our lives. Unfortunately, that growth requires a sense of belief in yourself to take steps forward. It’s not easy, but once you believe that if you a put your foot out there to take that first step, and you don’t land correctly, that life is still going to be alright, life becomes beautiful again. See, it’s not always about succeeding. It’s about having the belief in yourself and your own capabilities to even take that first step. Forget if you fail or not.  That’s the risk one takes. Frankly, that’s half the fun. Mess up, start again, and really be able to enjoy the success when it finally works out the way it’s supposed to work out. Seeing the hard work pay off is worth every setback. That’s the beauty in this journey of life.

It’s time to stop holding ourselves back and start moving forward. Life is going to happen, and time is going to pass us by. It’s up to us on what we do with that life. It just seems that it’s so much sweeter when we start with believing in ourselves. Go take that step forward.  Believe in yourself. Believe in others. Take those risks. Just remember, everything is alright in the end, and if it’s not, then it’s not the end.

Now go cook something in that life of yours and believe in yourself!
