The Deliciously Simple Peach Cobbler…

Just like the Maw-Maw Soup mentioned before…this is a special childhood memory.  Last night, Maw-Maw sent home a container of this wonderful, simple, and delicious Peach Cobbler along with the soup.  It’s one of my favorites to make when having company…no stress prep.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 large can of sliced peaches, drained or equivalent in fresh sliced peaches

Preheat the oven to 350°.  Place the stick of margarine in a 13×9 dish and melt the stick in the oven.  Once melted, remove the dish from the oven.  Mix the flour, sugar and milk in a bowl to create your batter.  Then pour the batter over the top of the melted margarine.  Next, put the peaches in the dish on top of the batter.  Take a spoon and turn each peach slice over into the batter once.  Just enough to coat both sides with the batter.  Bake until golden brown on top.

The best thing about this simple recipe???  You can use this same batter and substitute the can of peaches with any fruit of your choosing….cherries, apples, etc.  Enjoy and be creative!!!
